On 27 August 2026, Justin Sun (@justinsuntron) — TRON founder, HTX adviser, inveterate headline generator — posted a lengthy first-person essay to X titled My Girlfriend Jing Tian / 《我的女友景甜》. He labelled it "purely fictional," waived copyright, and invited circulation. Later interviews suggested most of it reflected genuine feeling. It reportedly cleared 33 million views in a day, per secondary reporting.

Keep three strands separate. The essay is Sun's account alone — a relationship from late 2025, a fertility arrangement he says Jing Tian proposed, and a late demand for tens of millions more. The civil suit followed the same week: Sun's counsel Zhang Qihuai confirmed an action against Jing Tian and her parents in Xi'an over more than 30 million RMB (~US$4.5M) in betrothal money, with a court reported to have accepted the case and asset preservation sought — a counsel statement, not a verdict. Jing Tian's denial, per Chinese social media reports, was a Weibo post saying she has not, is not, and will never sell her love for money "let alone my soul." She did not address his specific claims.

The Third Man — and the Old Office

On 29 August 2026 at 05:02 GMT, Star Xu (@starokx, post ID 2093564999327457723) entered the thread. He did not reply to CZ directly. He quote-tweeted a third-party user's post accusing CZ of writing about people in Freedom of Money while now lecturing peers on conduct. Xu's own words: the richest man is surfing the hotspot; we are all industry veterans; the internet has a memory; do not lecture others before finishing telling your own story. His summary assessment of the memoir: "Full of bullshit."

This is not a new position. The dispute had exploded in April 2026 when CZ published Freedom of Money, which revisited the OKCoin chapter and included a claim that Huobi founder Li Lin told CZ he believed Xu had reported him to Chinese authorities.
