Sepolia Beta Token Gate Testing Guide
DeFiHubSpace is currently running a live beta test of token-gated premium content on Ethereum Sepolia. This guide walks you through everything you need to participate — from wallet setup to unlocking gated sections — in a few straightforward steps.
What you'll need: ~15 minutes, a desktop browser, and no real funds.
Prerequisites
- A desktop browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, or Edge)
- MetaMask installed — or any injected Web3 wallet
- No prior Sepolia experience required
Step 1: Add the Sepolia Network to MetaMask
If you already have MetaMask set up, you just need to add the Sepolia testnet.
- Open MetaMask and click the network selector at the top (it likely says Ethereum Mainnet).
- Click Add a network → Add a network manually.
- Enter the following details:

- Click Save and switch to the Sepolia network.

Step 2: Get Free Sepolia Test ETH
You need a small amount of Sepolia ETH to cover gas fees for any on-chain interactions.
- Copy your wallet address from MetaMask.
- Visit a Sepolia faucet — options include:
- sepoliafaucet.com
- faucets.chain.link
- alchemy.com/faucets/ethereum-sepolia
- Paste your address and request test ETH.
- Wait ~1 minute for the funds to arrive. You can confirm on sepolia.etherscan.io.
A small amount (0.1–0.5 ETH) is more than enough for testing.
Step 3: Acquire DUTIL on Sepolia
Token-gated content requires a minimum balance of 100 DUTIL in your connected Sepolia wallet. DUTIL is the utility token used across DeFiHubSpace.
- Make sure your wallet is connected and set to the Ethereum Sepolia network.
- Navigate to the swap interface at app.defihub.space/swaps.
- Swap your Sepolia ETH for DUTIL.
- After the swap confirms, verify your balance inside MetaMask by importing the DUTIL token contract if it isn't already visible.
Once your wallet holds at least 100 DUTIL, you're ready to unlock gated content.
Step 4: Connect Your Wallet on DeFiHubSpace
- Visit any gated page on defihub.space — gated content is marked with a lock indicator.
- Click Connect Wallet when prompted by the token gate.
- Choose your wallet from the options: MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, WalletConnect, or any injected wallet.
- Approve the connection request in your wallet. No transaction is required — this is a read-only balance check.
Step 5: Verify and Unlock
Once your wallet is connected:
- The gate will automatically check your DUTIL balance on Sepolia.
- If your balance meets the 100 DUTIL minimum, the content unlocks immediately.
- If verification fails, click Verify Again after confirming your wallet is on the Sepolia network and holds sufficient DUTIL.
That's it — you now have full access to premium token-gated sections.
Troubleshooting
Content still locked after connecting?
- Confirm MetaMask is on the Ethereum Sepolia network, not mainnet.
- Check your DUTIL balance is at least 100 — open MetaMask and look for the DUTIL token.
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting your wallet, then click Verify Again.
DUTIL not showing in MetaMask?
- Use Import Token in MetaMask and enter the DUTIL contract address from sepolia.etherscan.io.
Swap failed or no test ETH?
- Return to Step 2 and use a different faucet — some have rate limits.
- Ensure you are on Sepolia, not mainnet, before requesting from the faucet.
